Day 3 – Wednesday, 9 April
A journey to knowledge, tradition and the unique beauty of Meteora
The third day of the Erasmus+ multicultural exchange programme was successfully completed, leaving the participants with unique experiences and strong impressions. The programme will continue with the participation of schools:
1st visit to the Averofio Agricultural School in Larissa
The day began with a meeting at the school and a transfer to the Averofio Agricultural School, a historic agricultural training centre that combines theoretical knowledge with practical training. The students visited the facilities, were informed about the school’s educational activities and discussed issues relating to sustainable agriculture and the agri-food sector.
2. exploration of Meteora – the power of faith and nature
The next stop was Meteora, a landscape of cultural and spiritual world heritage that captivates visitors with its uniqueness and awe-inspiring beauty.
The first stop was the Holy Monastery of Agios Stefanos, which impressed the students with its simplicity, tranquillity and panoramic views. This was followed by a visit to the Holy Monastery of Varlaam, where the architecture, historical documents and works of art gave the visitors a deeper understanding of monastic life.
The students had the opportunity to connect with the sense of moderation, silence and spiritual depth that these places exude. Their post-visit conversations were full of questions, impressions and emotions.
3 Meteora Digital Imaging Centre
Finally, we visited the Meteora Digital Imaging Centre, a state-of-the-art centre that uses new technologies to present the history, geomorphology and culture of Meteora. With the help of 3D projections, interactive exhibits and virtual reality projections, the students travelled through time and space and were able to deepen their learning experience.
4th lunch in Trikala – moments of relaxation and communication
The day continued with a short stopover in Trikala, where we enjoyed a traditional lunch and discussed and exchanged the impressions of the day. It was an opportunity to relax, socialise and exchange cultural experiences between the students from the four countries.
5 Return to Larissa.
The return to Larissa was accompanied by a feeling of accomplishment and deep satisfaction. Another day in which knowledge, tradition, nature and international dialogue were united in a single, vibrant, multidimensional educational goal.
