🌱 Creative Engagement for a Sustainable Future
March 15 – April 15, 2025
Over the past month, students and teachers from the four project countries—Hungary, Slovakia, Greece, and Italy—once again implemented numerous creative and awareness-raising activities focused on sustainability. Both the local and international programs vividly illustrate how deeply environmental protection and sustainable thinking have already become part of everyday school life.
🇭🇺 Hungary – Posters, Presentations, and Hands-on Experiments
Hungarian students explored a variety of environmental topics through the German language. Their creative and educational efforts included:
- Colorful posters addressing the role of bees, reducing the ecological footprint, and the importance of recycling.
📌 Posters available here: https://online.fliphtml5.com/pqzee/chcz/#p=1 - Digital presentations on topics such as climate change, electric vehicles, and the solar energy company Kelet Solár.
- Videos and podcasts on medicinal herbs, now available on the project’s online platforms.
As part of the Sustainability Project Week, chemistry teacher Mr. Lajos Barkó conducted chemical experiments demonstrating the effects of air pollution, including an eye-opening experiment on the decomposition of chlorophyll due to sulfur dioxide. Several classes actively participated, sparking important discussions on global environmental challenges and their impact on our shared future.
🇸🇰 Slovakia – Creative Learning and Green Challenges
The Slovak school addressed the topic of sustainability through a variety of interdisciplinary projects:
- On Earth Day, they launched the “Car-Free Kilometers” challenge and organized a clean-up campaign around the school grounds.
- In Slovak language classes, students invented eco-themed fairy tales.
- During German lessons, they composed slam poetry about environmental issues.
- In physics class, students participated in a quiz on renewable energy sources.
- Additionally, they produced a podcast reflecting on their mobility trip to Greece.
