European Week for Waste Reduction 2024

📅 16–24 November 2024

🌍 One Earth – 4 Voices for Recycling

Within the framework of the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), the four partner schools of our Erasmus+ project “Shaping the Future Together – Promoting Sustainability and Driving Change” sent a strong message: together, they implemented a wide range of activities aimed at raising awareness for a more sustainable use of resources and waste management.

Under the motto Reduce – Reuse – Recycle, the schools developed creative and engaging activities, with students taking a central role. These actions are part of our project’s focus on sustainability and reflect our shared goal of encouraging young people to act responsibly.

📌 On this Padlet, all partner schools present their contributions and activities related to recycling and waste prevention.

Let us inspire one another—for a future where sustainability becomes a reality!

Our students worked collaboratively between the meetings as part of a joint international cooperation.

This Padlet (“One Earth – 4 Voices for Recycling”) is a digital project platform where students explored the topic of sustainability and recycling from different perspectives.

On the platform, learners published content they created individually or in groups (e.g., short texts, arguments, and visual elements), in which they presented:

  • why reducing waste is important,
  • how recycling contributes to environmental protection,
  • and which everyday actions can lead to a more sustainable lifestyle.

The “4 voices” refer to the fact that students from the four participating schools approached the topic from different viewpoints and with various methods. In this way, the Padlet functioned both as a shared thinking space and as a digital presentation platform.

The platform was not only used to collect information but also gave students the opportunity to develop their own opinions, argue, and respond to the work of others. In this way, their communication and collaboration skills were specifically strengthened.

As part of the activity, a video meeting via eTwinning also took place, during which the students presented and exchanged their experiences.

2. Biodiversity was also a key focus during our project period

This Padlet (“Together for Biodiversity – 22.05.2025”) is a digital project platform where students explored the topic of biological diversity (biodiversity) in connection with the International Day for Biological Diversity on May 22.

On the platform, learners presented in various formats (texts, images, short presentations):

  • what biodiversity means,
  • why preserving the diversity of life is important,
  • which threats endanger natural ecosystems,
  • and which individual and collective actions can contribute to protecting nature.

The Padlet was created as part of an international collaboration, in which participating students shared their ideas and experiences. The platform offered the opportunity to explore different perspectives from various countries and to compare one’s own environment with others.

The aim of the activity was not only to acquire knowledge but also to promote environmentally conscious thinking and to strengthen active civic engagement. Throughout the task, students learned that preserving biodiversity is a shared responsibility.
