Hungary – Nyíregyháza
Film club on sustainability: The students watched the film ‘A PlasticOcean’, which shows the effects of plastic pollution, and the film ‘IfYouGive a Day’, which explores the positive effects of community tree planting.
Preparations for the meeting in Sciacca: The students prepared questionnaires and presentations on the history of sustainability and their ecological footprint.

Slovakia
Sustainability open day (6 November): The school presented its sustainability projects and reported on the meeting in Sicily.
Podcast about the meeting in Sicily: The students created a podcast in which they shared their experiences.
TikTok video on waste separation: The students produced a video about the school’s waste separation system.
European Waste Reduction Week (22 November): Online lecture on reducing food waste.
CO2 footprint analysis and evaluation: The pupils completed questionnaires and analysed the results.
Visit to Energoland: Educational trip to the interactive educational centre in Mochovce.

Greece – Larissa
Preparations for Sicily: The pupils carried out research and created presentations on the ecological history of their country.
Environmental projects in the city: The students worked together with the city council, planted trees and designed green areas in the schoolyard.
Beach clean-up and recycling activities: The students carried out a beach clean-up with the local organisation I-Sea and organised campaigns to promote recycling.

Italy – Sciacca
Preparations for the international project meeting: The school organised the accommodation, reception and programme for the guests.
Educational programmes on sustainability: evaluation of the ecological footprint, history of sustainability, interactive Italian lessons.
Excursions and study visits: The students visited the Lago Arancio reservoir, the Montevago thermal baths and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Valley of the Temples.

Final thoughts

The programmes have successfully contributed to the development of environmentally aware thinking among the pupils. The international co-operation between the schools has further increased awareness of the importance of sustainability.
