Together for a sustainable future!
Dear readers,

This month we have once again carried out numerous exciting activities as part of our Erasmus+ project. Our students have been working intensively on sustainable transportation, healthy eating and environmentally friendly school projects. At the same time, preparations were underway for our next international project meeting in Slovakia. Read here what we have experienced in the past weeks!

A week of sustainable transportation
To raise awareness of environmentally friendly mobility, we organized a week of sustainable transport. Pupils were encouraged to switch to public transport, cycling, carpooling or walking to school. The campaign was not only intended to reduce the students’ carbon footprint, but also to create a better understanding of sustainable transportation options.

A sustainable food week and our own cookbook
Our school also organized a sustainable food week. During this time, students were encouraged to eat healthier, prioritize meat-free meals and consume more fruits and vegetables. This challenge was a great success!
In this context, our students created their own cookbook with sustainable recipes in which they put together creative and environmentally friendly meals. You can find the cookbook online here:

Our sustainable school – presentation and project meeting in Slovakia
Another important project was the creation of a presentation on the topic “What have we done to make our school more sustainable?”. This presentation will be presented at the next Erasmus+ meeting in Slovakia, which we have already arranged. We are looking forward to presenting our achievements so far and working with our partners on new sustainability goals. All 4 schools took part.

Our partner in Greece – sustainability at various levels
The 1st Experimental High School of Larissa implemented various sustainable initiatives from January 10 to February 10, 2025, including:
Student exchange with the high school of Lappersdorf: students engaged in sustainable sports such as mountain hiking, cycling, swimming, skiing and sledding.
Visit to an environmental education center: Pupils learned more about organic farming in the mountain villages of Thessaly.
Project “Larissa 2050 – A sustainable city”: French-speaking pupils took part in the Concours national de la francophonie in Greece and developed creative visions for the future of a sustainable city of Larissa.
Preparations for the meeting in ZlatéMoravce, Slovakia: Creation of a presentation of the project activities, podcasts and videos.
Ski lessons and nature experiences: Students had the opportunity to travel to a ski resort and learn about sustainable winter sports.

Our Hungarian partner – research and creative projects
Our Hungarian partner school also carried out many interesting activities:
Continuation of the film club: new students joined the group to explore sustainable topics.
Research projects: Students created PowerPoint presentations on sustainable school, smart homes and eco-friendly businesses. The presentations are available on the school website.
Preparation for the Erasmus+ meeting: Students worked on podcasts and videos on sustainable development.
Looking ahead to the next few months
The next few weeks will be just as exciting! Our project meeting in Slovakia is approaching and we are looking forward to continuing to implement sustainable projects and collaborate with our international partners.

Stay tuned and join us on our journey towards a more sustainable future!
