How Students Created a Mini Dictionary
Sustainability is a concept that goes far beyond environmental protection. It represents the responsible use of resources, social justice, and economic stability. Within the framework of German language instruction, this multifaceted concept was used as the starting point for a creative and cross-linguistic activity that not only raised awareness of sustainability but also promoted linguistic diversity and intercultural communication.

The teacher began the lesson by writing the word “Nachhaltigkeit” (sustainability) in large letters on the board. The students’ task was to find a new word for each letter of the term.
