An “open” day in an eco-village for the students, teachers and parents of our school.
In the framework of the Erasmus+ program entitled “Shaping the future together”, the responsible team of teachers, students and parents of the 1st Experimental High School of Larissa on Sunday 29 September participated in the Opens Days (https://openfarm.gr/…/open-farm-days-2023-cob-gr…/) at the COB estate (https://www.cob.gr/) in Nessona. This visit aimed to familiarize the students with the principles of sustainability, self-sufficiency and natural technologies, which are practically applied in the facilities of the estate.
The COB estate in Nessonas serves as a space for experimentation and education around sustainable practices and natural constructions. During our visit, the students had the opportunity to see first-hand how the principles of self-sufficiency and green building are put into practice.
Guided by experts from the estate, the students participated in various activities, such as natural construction using clay and straw, water management and the application of sustainable energy technologies. Through interactive workshops, they understood how passive energy systems work and how we can use nature as an energy source without harming the environment.
This visit is part of the Erasmus+ actions aimed at disseminating innovative practices in the fields of education and sustainability. The students were introduced to the basic principles of sustainable technologies and self-conservation, gaining new knowledge that can be used to protect the environment. In addition, their environmental awareness was strengthened as they became aware of the importance of reducing their energy footprint.
The Erasmus+ team was impressed by the organisation of the estate and the direct contact with sustainable practices.
The Erasmus+ team’s visit to the COB estate in Nesson was a learning and inspiring experience. Not only did the students enjoy nature and sustainable practices, but they gained knowledge that will accompany them in their quest for a more sustainable and environmentally friendly lifestyle.
