The dissemination event of the European Erasmus+ program titled “Together We Can Shape a Sustainable Future” was successfully held on Friday, 23 January 2026, at the 1st Experimental Gymnasium of Larissa.
During the event, the activities and outcomes of the two-year project (February 2024 – January 2026) were presented. The project focused on sustainable development, raising environmental awareness, and fostering an open, collaborative, and future-oriented school environment.
Students actively participated in the presentations, sharing their experiences from collaborating with partner schools abroad, particularly from Italy, Slovakia, and Hungary. They also highlighted key skills developed through the project, including teamwork, responsibility, active citizenship, and respect for the environment.
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of the “Sustainable – Green Classroom”, a concrete and innovative result of the project. This space was designed through the close collaboration of students and teachers and serves as a learning environment dedicated to the principles of sustainability.
The event was honored by the presence of the Mayor of Larissa, Mr. Athanasios Mamákos, and the Deputy Mayor for Education, Mr. Christos Agoritsas. In their speeches, they praised the school community for its commitment, openness, and active participation in European educational programs, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives for fostering responsible and environmentally conscious young people.
A particularly moving moment was the presence of Ms. Zisopoulou, the teacher who co-designed and initiated the Erasmus+ project with the European partners and has since retired. Her participation gave the event a strong emotional dimension and underscored that such programs are the result of long-term pedagogical vision, dedication, and collaboration.
The event was truly a celebration of learning, cooperation, and European spirit, sending a clear message:
Education can and must actively contribute to a more sustainable future.
